There are a lot of things in my photography. Sometimes it's about capturing moments. Some other times it's about storytelling. Sometimes I just sit there and watch cats. How beautiful they are. Like nature's perfect works of art. Like Sissi in this photo, her spotted fur against the white wall. Her perfect stretch. Her slim body. It is well known that cats don't like water and my Ricky is no exception to the rule. It's been raining heavily here lately, this puddle is on the street in front of our house and Ricky jumped over it because he didn't want to get his paws wet. I just had to share this with you. Here's my flying Ricky in action once again, but what I really love about this moment is Sissi in the background escaping through the fence 😂 Ricky was running towards her but she's too fast for him, so when he realized that he wouldn't catch her he came flying to me. Sissi is six years old and in the past couple of years she's become a very homey cat, she no longer spends all mornings roaming in the neighborhood and chilling in our neighbors' yard. She still goes out every morning but when she starts feeling tired and ready for her morning nap she comes back home and she usually naps on her scratcher. She used to be very active, she was always climbing trees and hunting lizards but she totally changed when she turned five. It was truly a day-to-day transformation from independent wanderer to homey cat. That's why this photo that I took earlier today is one of its kind. I do have very few occasions to shoot Sissi when she's running because now she rarely runs, she prefers walking, like a very elegant and mature lady cat. Yet once in a while she still has that impulse and she starts running. I love to see her like that, I can feel my heart beating faster in admiration for her beauty and for the strength that I see in every muscle of that stretching body. She's pure nature. Elegance, beauty and power perfectly balanced. Sorry, I got carried away ……… but Sissi is my first cat, she's my special furry girl, I still get so emotional when I talk about her and it still amazes me to see how she changes as years go by. I feel lucky to share my life with her and that I can document our daily life through photography and make timeless memories. If you've made it through this caption, thank you for reading this.
